News – “Kristina Capped”, “Solargain Selection”

, ,

Manning and Western Australia’s Kristina Kristic, 21, will make her senior Australian debut, a feat which will earn her cap number 83, alongside the nation’s most capped representative in history, 495-test player Karen Murphy. This is great recognition for the work and performances of Kristina in recent times.  She is the current Under 25 World Singles and Mixed Pairs Champion.  Congratulations and good luck Kristina.

Manning Memorial’s State Skipper Matt Ellul has been named as the Solargain Perth Suns third player, joining dual Rosenthal Medallists Clive Adams and Tom Mitchell for APL3.

To again be held at Brisbane’s Club Pine Rivers from 10th-13th November, the Solargain Suns will be looking to get past the semi final stage where they have landed in each of APL1 and APL2.

Ellul had a strong Australian Sides Series at Yokine, backing up from the South Burnie series in 2014 as WA’s leading skipper, together with an outstanding pennant season where he led the Manning outfit to an inaugural Premier League flag and himself finishing 2nd on the Premier League skippers table.

Congratulations Matt, again recognition for hard work and performances.

Ted Rebisz has given an indication of what is expected of the Manning Players if they are seeking selection for pennants this year. Only two of the three bowls are Ted’s, one of which is the closest. He was playing with Kim Burke but the camera did not have a wide angle lens so you cannot see Kim’s nearest. Get down on the green and start practice.  Ted and his fellow selectors will be watching.

Manning has become reciprocal members with the Manning Ripper’s football Club.  The Ripper’s will use the Club for their functions which is a great plus for both clubs.

A lot of work is being done on the surrounds of the greens by a few hard working members.  When the new synthetic grass is finished it will brighten the greens A and D.  If anyone has a couple of hours on a Monday morning to help with this project just turn up around 9am and I am sure you will be welcomed and as a bonus you get biscuits and tea.
