Coronavirus and its impact on the club.

Greetings to all members.

The Club’s Executive Committee met to discuss its responsibilities in relation to Coronavirus and the related memo from BWA (17th March). This email is to inform you of the committee’s decisions.

Please note – Upper most in the minds of the committee was the need to maintain the Club atmosphere whilst demonstrating a duty of care to members.

Decisions made include:

  1. Club events that can be completed are: Men’s Novice Singles, the finals for Ladies Singles.

  2. Major organised events open to large community groups cancelled. This includes Club’s Gala Day and Easter Pairs. This is in line with other bowling clubs as well.

  3. Organised social bowls events:
        a. Cancelled for one month and then reviewed: Jack Attack, Pakkas after Wednesday 18th, all winter bowls competitions.

  4. Other events:
        a. Club’s opening hours will be for our usual winter hours only.
        b. Members can continue to use the Club’s facilities within guidelines provided by Aust Gov Dept Health. In particular –
                   i. If you have been in close contact with a proven case of coronavirus, you must isolate yourself for 14 days from the date of last contact with a confirmed case.
                  ii. If you have returned from overseas please do not come to the Club for 14 days from the date you returned to Australia.
                 iii. If in doubt, please stay away.
        c. Trophy Night cancelled
        d. Sponsors function cancelled
        e. Hire of Club by community members remains possible.
